Safe Staffing
Saves Lives

Hospitals are putting patient safety at risk because there is no law that limits the number of patients a nurse can be assigned or the number of hours RNs are forced to work.
The bipartisan Safe Patient Care Act will help fix these dangerous problems.

Urge a hearing for the Safe Patient Care Act
When you’re in the hospital, you’re at your most vulnerable.
Patients rely on their registered nurse for the care and attention they need to stay safe and get better. Yet too often, hospitals force nurses to take care of an unreasonable number of patients. Stretching nurses too thin can result in preventable infections, falls, and even deaths. Hospitals keep doing this because there is no law that limits the number of patients a nurse can be assigned or the number of hours RNs are forced to work.
The bipartisan Safe Patient Care Act will help fix these dangerous problems.
